About Commodore OS:
Commodore was Apple's greatest rival and had as loyal a user base. Perhaps more so. If not for financial mismanagement Commodore might have continued to compete with Apple until this day. Almost twenty years later there continues to be a huge cult following for the various generations of Commodore computers produced, with countless websites devoted to them, and thousands of enthusiasts who regularly meet at annual events all around the world.
There are tens of millions of people that grew up with Commodore machines and many tens of millions more that were affected. For many, a Commodore computer was a toy for playing games, but it was also most people’s introduction to computing, and was utilised for homework and to a lesser extent in business. The White House was using Commodore 64s until the very late 90s. Many models of Commodore computers had outstanding graphics and sound capabilities for the day, which other computer manufacturers could not match until many years later.
